Infra America Capital, LLC is an investment manager that specializes in private debt and equity investments in energy transition opportunities through sustainable infrastructure companies and projects within the United States. Infra America was born from a problem we encountered. Both prior to and post the enactment of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), we noticed a shortage of investment funds focused on bolstering the American manufacturing sector. Despite the availability of ample capital for renewable and battery storage projects, there are limited investment funds dedicated to supporting manufacturers in the clean tech sector. Therefore, Infra America Capital's emphasis will be on both sustainable power generation projects and manufacturing, with a particular commitment to support American manufacturing and job creation in the U.S.
IAC was established by two former colleagues from Credit Suisse, Hari Achuthan and Don Pollard. Following his tenure at Credit Suisse, Achuthan founded the investment holding company ACO Investment Group LLC, the renewable energy company Convalt Energy, Inc., and the technology platform DigiCollect Corporation. Mr. Pollard founded the investment fund Credit Value Partners, LP, which was a spin-off from Credit Suisse Asset Management.
IAC is a minority-owned and controlled company, and is also recognized as an Emerging Manager. The company benefits from the substantial experience, proven track record, and resources of its founders. The management teams of IAC and its joint venture sponsors comprise a diverse group of individuals, including minorities and women, as well as many retired U.S. military veterans and spouses of veterans.
Hari Achuthan is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of each of ACO Investment Group, Convalt Energy and DigiCollect. Hari brings extensive origination, development and operations experience in the renewable infrastructure sector to the IAC team.
Under leadership of Hari Achuthan, the principals of IAC have demonstrated a robust track record. Over the last 11 years, they have excelled in identifying, originating, and nurturing the development of numerous renewable energy projects.
Spearheaded by Don Pollard, the leadership at (IAC) possesses an established record of success in initiating and overseeing high-yield private debt and equity investments. Over the course of the past 15 years, they have adeptly managed more than 230 investment companies and projects.
By year 2024, Infra America Capital's parent and affiliated companies are projected to ascend to the ranks of the top three solar module producers within the United States. Moreover, they will stand as one of only two large-scale, integrated manufacturers of Silicon Photovoltaic (Si-PV) solar modules in the country.
Forecasts for 2030 suggest substantial growth in Infra America Capital's investments, predominantly centered around sustainable infrastructure. Key areas of focus will include solar manufacturing, transmission line infrastructure, electric vehicle charging stations, and waste management.
Over the last 11 years, both Hari Achuthan and Don Pollard have worked together in developing portfolio company Convalt Energy into a manufacturer (through its parent company ACO Investment Group) of solar modules with a vertical integration plan underway to manufacture polysilicon, ingots, wafers, cells and modules. This vertically integrated factory will be one of the very few companies in the U.S manufacturing at scale.
